Mary Clare has been a teacher all her life. After college she taught 12th grade English in Baltimore County, MD, then spent two years teaching and administering the English Department at the Taipei American School in Taiwan. She returned to the states to teach two more years before she became a free-lance photographer. After earning her doctorate in Creativity at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, she began teaching for Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. She served on the faculty of Creative Arts in Learning for 15 years, the last three years as director of the division. She retired in 2005, and now teaches as an adjunct for Lesley and writes.
